I remember your green coat
and the hundreds of butterflies
you tied around my neck.
It wasn't funny when I joked with you
and I laughed by myself. You smiled into my eyes
and I laughed by myself. You smiled into my eyes
but yours remained cold.
I'm tired of carrying around my sadness.
It weighs too heavy.
But you insist on adding to it
and I don't know why.
My mind wanders a bit, sometimes.
I hear Lauryn when I think of us.
How I got lost and so did you.
I asked you if you knew where we put it.
You shrugged, leaving me wandering,
trying to find the way back.
