2012

I'm not a fan of new year resolutions, but I know how difficult it is to begin something new without saying goodbye to what came before. The past couple of years were the harshest I've ever known. I've been in pieces for a long time. There's many a thing I would change without needing to draw a single breath, but that would make me ungrateful for all the tiny blessings I've received in return. alhamdulilah. This year I've made a pact with my heart. I won't let myself get in my own way. I'll learn to love without reservation, to trust without proof, to smile without a reason. But above, to let the darkness come when it wills. Oh, how I've learned that this too shall pass.
